RJ MITTE

RJ Mitte is an American actor, producer and model, best known for playing Walter “Flynn” White Jr. across five seasons of AMC’s Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning series Breaking Bad. Cast as a teenager, he became a core member of one of television’s most celebrated ensembles and received the SAG-AFTRA Harold Russell Award for the role.

Born Roy Frank Mitte III in 1992 and raised between Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of three. He moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and built his career from background work into series regulars and leading roles. After Breaking Bad he appeared in Switched at Birth, Now Apocalypse and Netflix’s The Guardians of Justice, and has worked steadily in independent film, including Who’s Driving Doug, Triumph (also as executive producer), The Oak Room, The Unseen and Westhampton. Recent and upcoming credits include Love Me Dead.

Fashion has been a second, parallel career. In 2014 he starred in Gap’s global “Lived-In” spring campaign, photographed by David Sims alongside a cast of emerging artists. Signed with Elite, he has walked numerous shows, the highlight being Vivienne Westwood’s men’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection in Milan, which he opened and closed. He has also sat front row at Philipp Plein, Dsquared2 and Emporio Armani.

Mitte is a Screen Actors Guild spokesman for performers with disabilities, a member of SAG-AFTRA’s Performers with Disabilities / I AM PWD committee, and a celebrity ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Hospitals for Children. He fronted Shriners’ #CutTheBull anti-bullying campaign, is president of the family Mitte Foundation, and in 2025 received the Disability Rights Legal Center’s DREAM Award. His public work is built on a simple brief: disabled actors should be cast in all kinds of roles, portrayals should be accurate, and disability is a perspective, not a limit.
